Essay about music importance

The world music may be used to two sense. It may mean sounds so combined as to make a pleasant impression on the mind, as when we say. The music played by the orchestra at the concert was very line, or it may means that art of composing or of producing such pleasing sounds, as when we say. A person who has the genius to compose beautiful music, or who is an expert player on a musical instruments is called a musician.
All sound is not music. Many sounds, like loud shouting, the roar of traffic in the streets, the barking of dogs are simply noises. Mere noise, and discords (that is, the sounding of notes together which do not agree), produce no pleasing effects on the mind, but on the contrary are often irritating and disturbing. It is only when the sound are so combined that they pleas the ear, and have a soothing, inspiring or pleasantly exciting effect on the hearers, that they become music. Why certain combinations of sound pleas us, while others irritate and disgust us, we cannot tell any more than we can explain why we call some things beautiful, and others ugly.
Music, then, we may say consists of beautiful sounds. But as people's ideas of what is beautiful differ very much, so there are many kinds of music, some of which pleas some people and do not pleas others,-- from the magnificent com-positions of musicians of genius. Only people of educated musical taste can appreciate the former and they find no pleasure in the latter while the common people are bored with what is called classical music, and find pleasure only in what musicians would call vulgar tunes. But this is not peculiar to music.
It is the same with all arts. For example, untrained eyes and minds cannot appreciate the great pictures of artists of genius, but prefer highly colored daubs ; and the crowed prefers trashy and sensational novels to classical literature.

Good music often has a wonderful effect upon the feelings of even ignorant people. One poet has said. ''Music hath charms to soothe the savage Brest''; and the poet Dryden asks, ''What passion cannot music raise and quell?'' The regimental bands put courage and enthusiasm for battle into the hearts of marching troops; the solemn and stately music of the organ fills the worshipper in church and cathedral with awe and reverence and the sense of the Divine presence. Soft and sweet music soothes the worried, the worried, and the sad mothers send fretful children to sleep with gentle lullabies; and old song will bring tears to the eyes of the lonely exile; and grand music will fill strong men with great hopes and ambitions. ''What passion cannot music raise and quell?''

A dialogue between two friends about convict the story

Nadia: That's the best one I've heard for a long time.
Khalid: D'' you know that story about the convict?
Nadia: Not that one!
Khalid: No, no-it isn't that one, dear! Do you know it?
Nadia: I don't think so.
Khalid: Well, there was this convict who'd never been to prison before.
Nadia: Oh, that one.
Khalid: Quiet Nadia. And at his first meal, when they were all eating together, one of the other convicts suddenly got up shouted' twenty-four.'
Nadia: Whereupon all the other convicts roared with laughter.
Khalid: Please darling. I'm telling the story. So the new convict asked his neighbor what was so funny. 'oh,' said the neighbor. 'You see we've all been here so long that we know all each other's jokes. So instead of telling them we give them all numbers.
Nadia: Oh,no!
Khalid: So at the next meal the new convict decided to tell a joke himself, he felt terribly nervous, but finally, he gathered up his courage, stood up and in a very feeble voice 'twenty-eight,'
Nadia: But there was no reaction at all.
Khalid: Nadia! He sat down in complete silence, red in the face.
Nadia: I bet, a very embarrassing state of fairs.
Khalid: And after a bit, he asked his neighbor what was wrong with joke twenty-eight. 'Nothing,' said his neighbor. 'It's a very good joke. But you know, it depends on the way you tell the story.'
Nadia: Oh dear,That isn't the end yet!
Khalid: So at the next meal the new convict was determined to make them laugh. He stood up and in a firm voice shouted out, 'two hundred and forty-four'. Immediately, everyone was convulsed with laughter. They rolled in the aisles. When the laughter died down, the new convict turned to his neighbor, 'That was all right wasn't it? he said. 'Oh yes, couldn't have been better. And what's more, we'd never heard that one before!'
Nadia: Never heard that one before,
Khalid: I must remember that one,

Nadia: It's a real shaggy dog,

A dialogue between husband and wife after coming back from a party

Husband: What a strain!
Wife: Oh, it's good to sit down after all that standing.
Husband: I could just sit here forever and ever, and never get up.
Wife: I don't think I've ever felt so totally drained in my life. All that embarrassing talk, and the drink and the cigarette smoke___
Husband: And the heat. I didn't sleep very well last night either!
Wife: We should've gone to bed earlier.
Husband: But it's funny we should feel so exhausted. After all, we've only been to a party.
Wife: But what a party. I've never felt so foolish in my life.
Husband: We must be getting old.
Wife: I feel if I moved, my bones would break. And the stoles of  my  feet!
Husband: I haven't felt so washed out for ages.
Wife: Perhaps there's something wrong with us. There may've been something in the drink.
Husband: I hope not. The party was bad enough without that.
Wife: Perhaps  everyone at Maria's is now stretched out on the floor.
Husband: It won't do, we must pull ourselves together. Come on! One, two, three up! You see at least I can stand on my feet- just. Come on Nadia! Activity will make you feel better.
Wife: Oh, sit down. Don't be so hearty. You don't know how to relax.
Husband: I'll go and make some sandwiches and coffee. We're probably just hungry, without knowing it.
Wife: Go and do what you like as long as you leave me in peace.
Husband: All right. I must make an effort.
Wife: Solitude at last!
Husband: Good God!
Wife: What is it?
Husband: D'you know? It's incredible.
Wife: What?
Husband: There's man with a flowered shirt and long hair asleep on the floor in here. He's got a guitar.
Wife: Go on with you. You must be dreaming.
Husband: No-really.

A dialogue between wife and husband about choosing a dress for a party

Wife: Oh dear which dress should I choose? I can't make up my mind. Do help me.
Husband: Nadia, you know I don't know anything about fashion.
Wife: But which dress d' you like best?
Husband: Well, they're both all right.
Wife: Only all right?
Husband: Oh, no. I'm- I'm sure you'll look very nice in both of them.
Wife: Khalid, that's no help to me at all. I can't wear both of them! I want a decision.
Husband: But after all it is your decision, not mine.
Wife: Oh dear. The blue cotton is very smart but I'm not sure it goes with the hat.
Husband: You're not wearing hat are you?
Wife: I was going to.
Husband: But surely no one wears a hat these days.
Wife: No, I- I suppose they don't. But surely in smart society.
Husband: I honestly don't know. D'' you think I should wear a suit?
Wife: I would have thought so.
Husband: But surely with this summer weather, a sports coat would be all right?
Wife: But the sports coat is such a loud check. I don't think it would do at Maria's.
Husband: No- perhaps not.
Wife: Oh, I feel in such a muddle.
Husband: So do I. Perhaps we should just wear what we want to. A lot of people do these days, or perhaps the answer is not to go at all.
Wife: You mean rather than make fools of our-selves. I do feel terribly tried.
Husband: But then again you did want to go.
Wife: Yes, I would regret missing it. Oh, I don't know. I wish you were a decisive husband, instead of floundering about.
Husband: Me floundering about... you're the one who's worrying. 'Shall I wear this?' 'Shall I wear that? It's you who's uncertain, not me.
Wife: That's why I need someone definite.
Husband: All right. I'll tell you what we'll do.
Wife: What?

A dialogue between wife and husband on receiving an invitation

Wife: To think that we've been invited by a real day!
Husband: She may be Maria but that doesn't mean she's a real lady! Far from it.
Wife: Oh, don't be silly. It's a great honor. She's very well known. You know she opened the conservative fete last Sunday, down in the village.
Husband: So what?
Wife: How d' you mean' so what'? I've heard that her family came over with the conqueror.
Husband: They must be pretty old by now.
Wife: Well if you feel like that about it you need 'nit go. I certainly shall. One of the pleasures of living in England is meeting interesting people.
Husband: Just because she's got a handle to her double barreled name it doesn't mean she's interesting.
Wife: Well, I like moving in the best circles. I think breeding counts.
Husband: Well, certainly without it, none of us would be here.
Wife: Don't be so coarse. I only hope that when we do go over to Maria, you won't let me down.
Husband: You mean you're afraid I'll go in my gardening cloths and hiccup the whole time.
Wife: I'll have to get a new dress.
Husband: And new shoes? And white gloves! I Can see that moving in society is going to cost us a fortune.
Wife: Well, why not? Just think we'll meet a lot of  their friends and go to smart parties and we can do some entertaining here as well-invite them back.
Husband: Oh!. Lovely, with me in the evening dress the whole time or in tails likes a waiter.
Wife: Really Khalid, you're such a bore. I know you were born in a humble home but things are different now.
Husband: As if your family were such great shakes.
Wife: Well they were, shall we say, a little more refined than yours shall. I've always wanted to meet the British aristocracy.
Husband: Why?
Wife: Well because they're the only aristocracy that's still worth anything.

A dialogue between two friends about the necessity of scientific education

Ahmed: Hello! Mobeen, how are you? I have heard that you are planning to take subjects of arts for you matriculation.
Mobeen: Yes, Ahmed you have heard correctly.
Ahmed: So far as I know you secured good marks in science subjects in your eight class examination. Why have you decided to take subject of arts instead of science subjects?
Mobeen: In fact when I see so many unemployed doctors and engineers I feel science is useless.
Ahmad: You are mistaken, Mobeen. Scientific education is very necessary for everyone.
Mobeen: What do you mean. How can scientific education be necessary for everyone.
Ahmed: Scientific education helps us to work for the development of not only our country but also for the whole human race.
Ahmed: A country where there are limited sources science can help to find more sources.
Mobeen: But how can we create those natural sources which do not exist  here.
Ahmed: Scientific education helps us to think objectively. I am sure that with the help of science we can find alternative sources.
Mobeen: What do mean by thinking objectively.
Ahmed: Objectively thought  means to think and reach at some result with the help of facts and figures without any personal likes or dislikes.
Mobeen: How can we think without involvement of our personal opinion?
Ahmed: That is what we learn through scientific  education. Scientific education trains us to think objectively.

Mobeen: You are correct Ahmed. I have never thought about science from this point of view. Thank for guiding me correctly.

A dialogue between two friends about importance of sports

A dialogue between two friends about importance of sports

Ahmed: Where are you going Javaid? I have come to your house so that we could study together.
Javaid: I am sorry Ahmed. I am now going to play tennis. I'll be back in an hour. Would you pleas come back after an hour?
Ahmed: It is very strange, the examination are falling in next month and instead of studying you are going to play tennis.
Javaid: I have never missed playing tennis in the evening. I play tennis in the evening even during the days of examination.
Ahmed: But sport is not important than education.
Javaid: When did I say sports are important than education?
Ahmed: The way you play tennis even during the days of examinations shows that you do not consider education important than sports.
Javaid: It is only your misconception, I never thought that sports are more important than education.
Ahmed: I think sports are of no use in passing an examination.
Javaid: No, my friend you are wrong. Sports are just as useful as studies can be. One should not turn into a bookworm.
Ahmed: I don't think that studies make a person a bookworm.
Javaid: Sports make our bodies strong and it is famous proverb that strong body keeps a strong brain.
Ahmed: I haven't seen any sports man who is a scholar too.
Javaid: You are talking about professional sportsman. There is a great difference between an amateur sports man  and a professional sportsman.
Ahmed: I don't see any difference. All such people prefer sports to all other  things.
Javaid: If a boy has decided to become professional sports man. It is natural for him to give much time to sports. But all boys don't decide from the very  beginning to become a professional sports man. We play games to remain physically fit.
Ahmed: In our young age we are physically fit then why bother about games. Moreover, what good is any game to us in service or business.
Javaid: Besides giving us a good health every game teaches us discipline and obedience. These qualities make us prominent in every walk of life.
Ahmed: But Javaid, after games we get tried and cannot pay much attention to our studies.
Javaid: It is wrong to say games produce fatigue. Games exercise our limbs and refresh us. We can study more vigorously if we play games.
Ahmad: I think sports are only waste of time.
Javaid: I don't want to hurt you, but honestly tell me were my overall marks in the intermediate examination not better than yours?

Ahmad: I think you are quite right. I often marvel that I remain busy in study and still your marks are always better than my marks in every test. I think I too should start some kind of sports.

A dialogue between teacher and student about coming late

Teacher: Student, you are again late today. I have warned you time and again to be punctual but my advise has no effect on you. Will  you please tell me why are you late today again?
Student: Sir, I started for school well in time from my home and was hoping to reach school in time but my bicycle got punctured. There was no repair shop opened. I had to walk all the way to college.
Teacher: You are expert in producing lame excuses, will you remind me what was the cause of your coming late for yesterday?
Student: Sir, yesterday I came late because some unexpected guests came and my mother asked me to fetch some refreshments for them the market.
Teacher: And the day before yesterday why were you late?
Student: On that day my mother asked me to pay electricity bill in the bank and it was urgent due to the last date of the bill.
Teacher: And would you be kind enough to tell us what was the reason of your attending school late on the last day before the day after yesterday.
Student: Sir, it was raining and I waited till the  rain stopped.
Teacher: Student, I know you always have a good excuse for coming late but this is not good for you. You will become accustomed to fabricate excuses.
Student: But sir, I am not telling lies.
Teacher: punctuality is not only good for you in school life but in your practical life you will benefit much from it.
Student: I will  try to act upon your advice sir.
Teacher: Remember if we make it a habit to present excuses we will never achieve anything in life. This habit will show its effects in your daily life. We will begin to lose friends. No one will like us. Even our dear ones will avoid us.
