A dialogue between two friends about the necessity of
scientific education
Ahmed: Hello! Mobeen, how are you? I have
heard that you are planning to take subjects of arts for you matriculation.
Mobeen: Yes, Ahmed you have heard correctly.
Ahmed: So far as I know you secured good
marks in science subjects in your eight class examination. Why have you decided
to take subject of arts instead of science subjects?
Mobeen: In fact when I see so many unemployed
doctors and engineers I feel science is useless.
Ahmad: You are mistaken, Mobeen. Scientific
education is very necessary for everyone.
Mobeen: What do you mean. How can scientific
education be necessary for everyone.
Ahmed: Scientific education helps us to work
for the development of not only our country but also for the whole human race.
Ahmed: A country where there are limited
sources science can help to find more sources.
Mobeen: But how can we create those natural
sources which do not exist here.
Ahmed: Scientific education helps us to think
objectively. I am sure that with the help of science we can find alternative
sources.
Mobeen: What do mean by thinking objectively.
Ahmed: Objectively thought means to
think and reach at some result with the help of facts and figures without any
personal likes or dislikes.
Mobeen: How can we think without involvement
of our personal opinion?
Ahmed: That is what we learn through
scientific education. Scientific education trains us to think objectively.
Mobeen: You are correct Ahmed. I have never
thought about science from this point of view. Thank for guiding me correctly.
