A dialogue between teacher and student about coming late
Teacher: Student, you are again late today. I
have warned you time and again to be punctual but my advise has no effect on
you. Will you please tell me why are you late today again?
Student: Sir, I started for school well in
time from my home and was hoping to reach school in time but my bicycle got
punctured. There was no repair shop opened. I had to walk all the way to
college.
Teacher: You are expert in producing lame
excuses, will you remind me what was the cause of your coming late for
yesterday?
Student: Sir, yesterday I came late because
some unexpected guests came and my mother asked me to fetch some refreshments
for them the market.
Teacher: And the day before yesterday why
were you late?
Student: On that day my mother asked me to
pay electricity bill in the bank and it was urgent due to the last date of the
bill.
Teacher: And would you be kind enough to tell
us what was the reason of your attending school late on the last day before the
day after yesterday.
Student: Sir, it was raining and I waited
till the rain stopped.
Teacher: Student, I know you always have a
good excuse for coming late but this is not good for you. You will become
accustomed to fabricate excuses.
Student: But sir, I am not telling lies.
Teacher: punctuality is not only good for you
in school life but in your practical life you will benefit much from it.
Student: I will try to act upon your
advice sir.
Teacher: Remember if we make it a habit to
present excuses we will never achieve anything in life. This habit will show its
effects in your daily life. We will begin to lose friends. No one will like us.
Even our dear ones will avoid us.
