A dialogue between two friends about apology
Nadia: Really, we should have let
Sidra use our place.
Kahlid: We couldn't have done.
Nadia: Of course we could.
Kahlid: Not with the decorators there.
Nadia: That's pretty lame. They aren't
doing the whole house. You know that as well as I do.
Kahlid: Well, I don't want the
shambles of someone else's party in my house.
Nadia: Tell Sidra that. I think it was
mean of us.
Kahlid: I must say I was surprised to
get invited.
Nadia: We'll have to apologize.
Kahlid: That wouldn't achieve
anything.
Nadia: Kahlid, it was sweet of her to
ask us!
Kahlid: I suppose it is a bit
embarrassing.
Kahlid: Hello, here she is.
Nadia: Hello, Sidra.
Sidra: Hello,
Kahlid: It really was nice of you to
ask us.
Nadia: I'm so sorry you couldn't have
it at our house.
Kahlid: Yes. You caught us at a bad
moment.
Nadia: The decorators have taken the
place over. You can't imagine the mess we're in.
Kahlid: With a bit of luck though they
might. Have finished before your next party.
Nadia: We felt so mean having to say
no. You weren't too upset were you?
Sidra: no, of course not. I'm sorry I
wasn't here when you arrived. I was fetching someone from the station.
Nadia: Oh, that's all right. It is
nice to see you.
Kahlid: Did you have an awful time
finding somewhere?
Nadia: I must say it's very nice.
Sidra: Yes, it is, isn't it?
Kahlid: Did you have an awful job?
Sidra: No, not really. Just a few
phone calls.
Nadia: I do feel mean.
Kahlid: It's a pity about the
decorators.
Sidra: Really, don't worry. Everything
turned out fine.
Kahlid: Well, that's the main thing.
